During this time of the final harvest bonfires play an important role in the season. They are relied upon for light and warmth during the ever lengthening nights, they serve as a means of purification, they protect those whose faces they illuminate, as well as the villages that surround them, and keep unwanted spirits at bay at a time when the veil between the worlds is thin. They are sacred.

The cauldron is an ancient symbol of the womb of the Goddess ~ creation, abundance, and wisdom. It represents the elements of fire and water. It is a potent symbol, and one that is incorporated into most of my collections.

Front and centre sits a fiery red garnet, whose polished and finished sides lie beneath, but maintains its rough exterior (top). This garnet’s top has been left rough, adding to it’s richness and texture, while adhering to its wild, untamed nature. The garnet is flanked on each side by protective, handmade roses. The forces of rose are well understood: from the power of unconditional love, to courage, beauty, and the fierce protective thorns. These forces come together in one powerful sigil wrapping the wearing in this palpable magic. The cauldron measures 1 1/2 inches by 1 3/16 inches hanging from an 8 3/4 inch chain.
