Description

During this time of the final harvest bonfires play an important role in the season. They are relied upon for light and warmth during the ever lengthening nights, they serve as a means of purification, they protect those whose faces they illuminate, as well as the villages that surround them, and keep unwanted spirits at bay at a time when the veil between the worlds is thin. They are sacred.

The cauldron is an ancient symbol of the womb of the Goddess ~ creation, abundance, and wisdom. It represents the elements of fire and water. It is a potent symbol, and one that is incorporated into most of my collections.

In the Harvest Bonfire Cauldron an Ethiopian opal flashes oranges and greens creating  fiery, autumnal bonfire imagery. It’s flash and colour are amazing! A hand sawed triquetra, or Celtic knot, sits in support on the lower left side of the cauldron. The cauldron itself is hand sawed and detailed. On the back you’ll find my maker’s mark stamped, as well as .925 indicating sterling. The piece is blackened with a patina adding depth to the details. The pendant measures 1 1/2 inches by 1 1/8 inches and hangs from a 10 1/4 inch chain.
