Description

The pumpkin is the gem of the harvest season. They hold such a special place to those of us from their native land. Truly an icon of the season, they are beloved in their own right, and much deeper meaning lies just beyond their cheery, orange flesh. As a crop that is harvested in the autumn, pumpkins are a gourd that comes to ripeness in-between time when the veil thins. They symbolise transition and movement towards the darker times.  They represent abundance, spiritual connection, and are still used to this day to ward off unwanted spirits in the traditional practice of carving scary faces into their flesh and lighting them from the inside.

This idyllic harvest scene set in silver and gemstone. A gourdegous pumpkin sits surrounded by its own abundance of leaves and tendrils on the vine. Next to him sits his feline friend, the quintessential Samhain figure, the black cat. Our pumpkin glows orange thanks to an Ethiopian opal. Donning this stunning harvest scene you will feel that you are truly the Queen of the Harvest.
